Golden Gates Housing Trust is a leading Housing organisation based in Warrington, Cheshire. Part of the Torus Group, they own and manage more than 8000 homes and are committed to building thousands more.
As a Stock Transfer organisation, managing the provision of former council houses to Housing Associations, Golden Gates has a long-established Social Impact programme, working with tenants in areas including employability.
The launch of the Building Better Opportunities programme, funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and the National Lottery, through the Big Lottery Fund, was an ideal fit with Golden Gates’ pre-existing employability programme, for which CogniSoft YETI had been used to manage delivery of the programme.
BBO programmes are uniquely intensive, designed to reach customers other programmes fail to engage and offer support and guidance not possible through conventional programmes. As such, the data gathered as evidence of delivery and results is considerable, and the MI systems used must be configured to precisely support the processes of the lead and partner organisations.
YETI is ideally suited to the intensive nature of this data collection and as a web-based system, has the flexibility to cater to the processes involved in New Leaf, supporting both Golden Gates and their 29 partner organisations.
YETI was implemented to support the New Leaf programme, using custom dashboards to support partners through their workflow and PDF Manager for digital completion and data transfer to ease the administration overhead associated with such funded programmes.
Golden Gates ran a standard European procurement process requiring multiple bids to deliver against their stated requirements. CogniSoft won this competitive bid with a version of the YETI application at the core of the proposal.
CogniSoft’s understanding of how the BBO programme differed from the other programme Golden Gates operated using an implementation of YETI was key to the success of the New Leaf implementation of YETI. This adaptability proved vital as the programme has evolved over time, as Craig Dickinson, New Leaf Data Collections Officer explains, “Funding rules in BBO have changed on a number of occasions. This is a real challenge for us but YETI is able to adapt to the changes.”
Managing a large partner network is another key challenge Golden Gates faced in delivering BBO. YETI was able to assist with this also, as partners are able to run key performance reports at any time. Craig states, “Our partners being able to run the same reports as we use is hugely beneficial. They can cross-check and monitor their progress independently.”
Golden Gates Housing Trust have a long-standing and highly successful relationship with CogniSoft, having used the YETI system to support delivery of two employability programmes. Craig commented, “We really appreciate the User Group meetings CogniSoft provides to support organisations delivering BBO. It’s a great opportunity for us to share experiences and hear directly from the funding provider.”
